Keeping our children safe

Raising awareness in black and minority ethnic communities

Keeping our children safeA multi-lingual CD-Rom to take children’s safeguarding to the very heart of black and minority ethnic communities.

Developed by The Safe Network, this innovative CD is for trainers or group leaders working in black and minority ethnic (BME) communities, for use with parents, carers, community groups, staff and volunteers.

It aims to raise awareness of children's safeguarding issues and the role and responsibilities of the organisations involved in keeping children safe.

It will give participants the opportunity to share and learn about ways in which children can be kept safe and childcare practices that may help or harm a child's development, helping them to recognise abusive behaviours and acting to prevent them.

The CD Rom is structured around three generic training modules containing workshops, discussion sessions and exercises that can be tailored to the needs of the particular audience.

A multi-lingual resource. The CD contains all the resources in English, French, Chinese, Urdu, Bengali and Arabic.

Cost:  £30, or free to organisations working in the community and voluntary sector.
