Customers of HSBC and first direct can use HSBC cashpoints across the UK to make a donation to ChildLine.

HSBC employees have also been doing their bit by choosing to donate the odd pennies from their salary to ChildLine every month. With 7,000 employees taking part in the Keep the Change scheme, even their very small gifts make a big difference to the lives of children who call ChildLine.

Since April 2009 HSBC customers and employees have donated over £10,000 for the ChildLine helpline for children and young people through these schemes.

This amount could recruit and train six volunteer counsellors, who would each provide counselling to around 100 children in their first year on the helplines. Many of these children will have no one else to turn to.
