Skipton Building Society
Skipton Building Society has been an NSPCC corporate partner since 1995.
Their support began by selling Happy Kids badges across all Skipton branches. Since then, Skipton Building Society have implemented many successful and innovative corporate fundraising schemes that have raised over £1.5 million for the NSPCC and CHILDREN 1st, at the same time as fulfilling important business objectives for Skipton Building Society.
In April 1999, Skipton Building Society launched the NSPCC mini cash ISA which donates 0.5 per cent of the rate of interest received on the account directly to the NSPCC. In May 2005, Skipton Financial Services Limited (SFS) launched their recommend-a-friend scheme – The Mutual Reward Scheme. People who make referrals on the scheme are given the opportunity to choose from five different rewards, one of which is to donate £100 to the NSPCC.
In 2006, Skipton Building Society sponsored the NSPCC’s Number Day initiative. John Goodfellow, former Chief Executive and Director of Skipton Building Society said: "We are incredibly proud to have supported the NSPCC Number Day for the first time. Our association with the NSPCC goes back many years, in which time our members have raised over £1.5 million for the charity. Number Day provided us with a unique opportunity to build on our brand presence in schools, and with pupil, teacher and parent audiences. It raised over £163,000 for such a worthy cause which is a phenomenal achievement."
As well as these initiatives, in 2008 all Skipton branches displayed Letter from Santa postcards, which is the NSPCC’s Christmas fundraising initiative that raised a total of £807,000 during Christmas 2008, and they have promoted the Child’s Voice Appeal advert on their website. They are continuing to support us in 2009.
